There is a website with virtual manipulatives similar to the tiles we use in class. The difference is their x & y are the same length & they use the bottom left corner to start and we use the top left. I wish they weren't different, but oh well!
If you want to use the online manipulatives ( you don't have to), follow these directions: a. Go to National Library of Virtual Manipulatives b. Click on Algebra c. Scroll down to the heading Algebra (Grades 9-12) and click on Algebra Tiles d. Click the Clear button to clear the board. Then just drag and drop to the middle the same tiles corresponding to the problem on your worksheet. To turn tiles, hover your mouse of the corner of a tile, click and you will get a big black dot, then rotate your mouse and you will see the tile rotate, release the click when it is the direction you want. e. After you make the rectangle in the middle, you can add the tiles to figure out the side dimensions! :-) f.
